The original voice of Chatty Cathy (circa 1959) is that of June Foray.  Foray, who also did several other voices, which include: "A-Haunting We Will Go" (Witch Hazel), "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" (Rocket J. Squirrel), "The Bugs n' Daffy Show" (Granny), "The Bullwinkle Show" (Rocket J. Squirrel and Natasha Fatale), "Cinderella" (Lucifer), "Frosty the Snowman" (Teacher),  "The Little Drummer Boy" (Aaron's Mother), "Mulan" (Grandmother Fa).   And many, many more!  Her Resume is very impressive, as are her voices.

What does any of this have to do with a fun fact?   Well, if you remember, Chatty Cathy came out in 1959 and ran through 1965.

In 1963 (the midst of the Chatty craze) an episode of "Twilight Zone" (Ep. 126, November 1, 1963) - shows Erich (Telly Savalas) as being very upset when his wife buys an expensive doll for his step-daughter.  This episode was entitled "Living Doll."   And the doll was "Talky Tina."  Name sound familiar?

Talky Tina enraged Mr. Savalas when the doll tells him that she doesn't like him!   Savalas tosses the doll into the trash and assumes that this is the end of Tina. But... the telephone rings: "My name is Talky Tina ... and I'm going to kill you."

Well, other than this being a talking doll that was rather evil, the voice of this doll was none other than June Foray!  The same voice used for Chatty Cathy!  Imagine children across the country laying in there beds when suddenly they hear their favorite dolls voice and run to see what there parents are watching...
